generally we hve a six fundamental movements of major body segments

1.) Flexion: A decrease in the angle between two body segments. An example of exercise for Flexionwould pelvic presses, hamstring stretch, windshield wipers, or bicep curls.

2.) Extension: An increase in the angle between two body segments, or the return from ±exion. Anexample of extension would be tricep extensions and leg extensions.

3.) Abducon: Movement of a body part away from the midline. An example of this mo²on as anexercise would be dumbbell shoulder lateral raises.

4.) Adducon: Is the movement of a body segment toward the midline, or the return fromabducon, example would be the hip adductor machine when the legs come together.

5.) Rotaon: Is the circular movement of a body segment about a long axis. An example is whensomeone is playing tennis and they back hand the ball with the tennis racket.6.) Circumducon: Is the sequen²al combina²on of movements outlining a geometric cone
