According to experts, a daycare setting helps in inter personal skill building, receive overall better marks on cognitive/academic measures, and foster independence. While at home care, strengthens child to parent bonds and can make a child feel better taken care of and loved.

The cons to daycare, attacks to the immune system because of other sickly peers. Also, the adjustment period to daycare can take longer with some children, adding to stress levels both in children and parents. For those in a home care setting, lack of inter social development because of lack of contact with other children. Also, parent fatigue can set in, stressing the parent and in return stressing the child.

Personally, as a parent it would be a very serious conversation to have with your spouse. I believe that as the child ages the needs change as well. During the 12-18 months there would have to be some sacrifices made by the parents because one parent for sure would have to stay at home with the child, whilst still prepping the child for future social interaction. Once the parents and the child are past the infant stage, child daycare is a very viable option. In my opinion, it is not one or the other, it is a combination of everything. The key here is making sure that as parents, the guard is never down, and direct involvement is always present. Always keeping track of any deviation of normal eating, sleeping, and mood patterns of the child. Once a person becomes a parent, the child becomes your everything.

Thank you so much!!!

Explanation / Answer

I agree with the given argument in favour of a combination of parent monitoring and daycare facilities as Viable options for young children. While parental supervision and nurturance early is important during the first year of life to develop effective And positive parent-child attachment and ensure healthy physical and cognitive development, families where both parents are working members may not be able to fully give their entire time to the care of their child. This is because families within the United States do not enjoy the socila benefits of fully paid parental leave. As a result, many families have to necessarily turn to daycare facilities. However, other than financial reasons, the daycare environment may provide other advantages also such as in the form of increased social interaction with other children as peers, stimulating games and activities which aid in the child’s language, cognitive and social development. However, the potential health and safety concerns associated with leaving the child in care of strangers need to be deliberated upon in greater length by the parents. These can be mitigated by following greater vigilance and looking for signs of any unusual change in the child’s behaviour, eating, sleeping habits, which can also ensure continued involvement of the parents in the child’s day to day routine.
