Explanation / Answer
In my personal life I use a combination of reward power and expert power.I have the innate ability or nature to direct people and advise them on various matters,I want everything to be done according to my plan and when someone agrees on doing the thing the way I want I use reward power to appreciate their efforts.Sometimes it involves gift as well, like for instance a coworker of mine helped me organize everything for my personal family get together,he understood everything, and did as I wanted,so as a kind gesture I rewarded him and gave him a gift. Expert power works in areas about which I have some knowledge and experience. So,if someone wants to know a good restaurant in their locality,I would be able to help and provide my advise since I visit a lot of restaurants. At my workplace as well, this power works, since I am able to help my young interns as well as co-workers in matters where they lack knowledge. It is rewarding for me to help someone.I dont believe in threatening people,I focus on working together and helping each other out without misusing one's power.
