Question

let's consider this question. Elementary school girls tend to outperform boys on standard tests. However, this reverses in middle and high school and boys routinely outperform girls on standard tests, especially in science and math. Many psychologists believe that girls lose ground academically as they turn their attention to issues of popularity and dating.

Why don't boys show a similar decline in achievement as they turn their attention to dating? What's your opinion of this? What do you remember from high school?

Explanation / Answer

I read a report a few days back. In this report it was mentioned how teenage girls and boys spent their time. What are their favouraite activities? There was one graph showing that girls spent most of their time on cell phones, internet, dating, cosmetics etc. While boys spent their time on video games, or any internet games.

I do remember this during my school days. The physical and hormonal change are there in girls earlier compared to boys. They also have quick mood change. Hence dating etc becomes an escape route for them. In addition there is watch out more on girls from parents than boys esp. in this age.

The boys are more reminded as future bread winner and no more a play full child in their growing age. Hence they tend to get more ambitious, in addition, gamings etc increase their focus or concentration. Whereas even in growing age, it is not mandate on girls to be breadwinner, they are taught few household responsibilities. So their attention also gets divided more ambitious to other activities.

Above all I have experienced as a teenage girl in my school days
