Question

Introversion and Extraversion characteristics and their effects on Marital bliss (title)

The variables introversion and extraversion are known to have varying effects on individuals

lives and collective lives and on the levels of happiness. The aim is to measure the synergistic

affect between the two and the happiness index as a result. (hypothesis) What sampling technique will be used to collect your sample? What population does your sample generalize

to? What are the variables in your study? What would be some operational definitions for each variable?

Explanation / Answer

1. For this study, the convenience sampling technique can be used. Married individuals can be recruited through advertisements on the internet as well as the newspaper.

2. Since a non-probability sampling technique is being employed, the results cannot be generalised to the population with a great degree of accuracy. However, it can be at least partially applied to urban couples.

3. The independent variable is synergistic affect of introversion-extraversion. The dependent variable is happiness index.

4. The degree of introversion/extraversion would be the score obtained on the Extraversion scale of the Eysenck Personality Inventory.

Happiness index would be defined as the score obtained on the Oxford Happiness Inventory (Argyle and Hill)
