Question
Sprint 7:18 PM 2. Personality You can take the Keirsey Temperament Sorter at http://keirsey.com/. The Kiersey Temperament Sorter is a personality test similar to the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory that includes four scales assessing the dimensions of extraversion/introversion, intuiting/sensing, feeling/thinking, and judging/perceiving. This categorization parallels Carl Jung's effort to classify people according to specific personality types. When researching this topic, some questions to consider in your response may include: Do you agree with your scored profile? Do you think that this site provides empirical support for the author's claims? ° How are personality tests used in our culture? Would your results be the same if a good friend or family member answered the questions for you? Why are these tests important and how can they be helpful to you and those who view your results? (Remember to use sources to support your claims.) 3. Social PsychologyExplanation / Answer
1. I am in agreement with my scored profile, and it aligns with the categorisation I received after completing the MBTI (INFP).
2. I do not believe that this site provides any empirical support for the author’s claim, it merely assigns scores and categories after the completion of the test.
3. Personality tests are most frequently used in our culture for purposes for selection and recruitment. Major organisations use these tests during the process of assessing prospective candidates applying for a particular job position. Such tests are used in the early stages of recruitment and selection wherein candidates with undesirable personality traits are filtered out.
4. I believe that the results would be slightly, but not significantly different if a good friend or family member answered to questionnaire on my behalf. Being an introverted personality type, there are many aspects of myself that I prefer not to share with others.
