The schools and teachers should definitely play a role in the children’s moral development because they spent more time in the school. Only a morally disciplined teacher can help the children with their moral development. A teacher can create a lasting impression on a child in his or her school days. A teacher can act as a counsellor in helping the child behave well with others and make them understand that it’s really important to manage emotions and treat others. A teacher can also instil the mind-set that one shouldn’t be selfish and put others in front of other’s needs.
Schools can set exemplary behaviours and conduct regular reviews whether it’s followed or not. Good behaviours could be rewarded and unwanted behaviours could be punished thus exhibiting the expectation. Schools can provide a positive and supportive environment. Children could be given collaborative activities in the school thus promoting team spirit, understanding others, respecting others and helping others.
