Median is the most preferred measure of central tendency when the data has an outlier since the median is considered resistant to outliers because while the mean takes into its calculation every single data value the median is simply a measure of central tendency with the overall distribution taken into consideration, since any outlier would have been either a lower extreme or a higher extreme.
