Question
You work for a large international firm and co-worker tells you that he has no plans to return to his return to his job after he takes his annual two-week vacation. You know your department cannot meet its deadline short-handed and that your company will need at least two or three weeks to recruit and hire a qualified replacement. You also know that it is your company's policy not to give paid vacations to employees who do not agree to work for at least three months following a vacation.
What should you do? What points would you make in a confidential, ethical memo to your boss? What points would you make to your co-worker?
Your essay should have 4 paragraphs.

Explanation / Answer
Introduction
An employees is planning to resign his organisation without giving any prior notice. He has applied for his annual vacation but according to the company policy paid vacation is given only if the employee agrees to work 2 to 3 months after the vacation. And also some project deadlines have to be made within the department which is not possible if the employee resigns. And 2 to 3 weeks should be required in order to hire a new employee which makes the situation even worse.
Points in favor of side A
I would inform the boss regarding the intention of the employee of resigning the position without prior notice. And encourage him to give some incentive to the employee so that he changes his mind which would benefit the organisation and projects would be completed within the deadline. Within the same time frame a new employee can be hired for the same position.
Points in favour of side B
I will convince the employee so as to not resign the organisation without completing the assigned project. I would explain to him how his behaviour is against the moral standards and also how his actions would impact his reputation among the employees of organisation.
Conclusion
I would be in favour of side A ie. favouring the organisation as the employee is not making a right decision by leaving the project incomplete and resigning without any notice.
