a) This is an experiment as we are trying to find the effect of the new shoe design that might affect the arthiritis disease in the patients, So we are actually , giving the patients a dose of the "new shoe design" and are then comparing whether there is any improvment for the patients
b) the explainatory variable in this case would be the independent variable , which is the new shoe design
c) The subjects are the 80 artheritis patients who are classified into treatment and the control groups
d) The factors would be the shoe design and the patients in the 2 groups
e) The treatment would be the presence and the absence of the new shoe design and the response variable would be the level of the disease on the 2 groups of the patients under the treatment of the new shoe design
