1) Taking care of children takes time and energy, and thus could have potential influence on parents’ income. Among married couples who have children, are there any differences between mothers’ average monthly income and fathers’ average monthly income? Monthly income is measured in dollars.

2) Is being incarcerated as a juvenile associated with the likelihood of developing a substance-use disorder (SUD) within 5 years of being released from a detention facility? Incarceration is measured by whether or not a person was incarcerated as a juvenile in a detention facility. SUD is measured by a physician’s or psychologist’s diagnosis of the presence/absence of SUD.
