Question: The goal of this simulation is to find the protein state with minimum free energy. In order to do...

The goal of this simulation is to find the protein state with minimum free energy. In order to do this, we try a lot of protein states and calculate the free energy. Then we end up with a big list with two columns, one is the input state and the other one is the free energy. We can now find the input state corresponding to the minimum free energy. WE DO ONE INPUT AT A TIME.THEN WE TRY PARALLEL COMPUTING

Now imagine that we can input two different states at the same time and as an output receive the lowest free energy state of the two input states and the minimum free energy corresponding to this state. The number of processors used doesn’t change

What advantages will this give?

1. We only need 50% of the time. THAT WE USED IN FIRST SUBMISSION OF ONE INPUT AT A TIME

2. We only need 66.6% of the time. sAME AS ABOVE

3.There are no advantages, we only lose information about the higher free energy states.

Explanation / Answer

1.by doing these 2nd technique we will we able to detect the lowest free energy of all the inputs in almost half time as we needed to do the same work by 1st technique. thus to complete the work only 50% time will be required as compared to time reqired in 1st technique
