Question

Some ecologists were interested in whether different plant clones were differentially susceptible to herbivory. They began their study by first assessing the number of herbivores found on individuals representing five clones. FULLY analyze their data to determine if and which of these clones experience different herbivore pressures. Describe all of your results in a few concise sentences, and provide at least 1 table or figure to display your findings

Explanation / Answer

The region which contains abundant herbivores contains more herbivore pressure. So , here clone D has highest number of herbivores and hence the pressure will also be more in them. More herbivore pressure also indicates that the plants in clone D is fit compared to other regions and hence there is more herbivores. Because of the presence of more herbivores in this region , predators will also be more . Hence the abundance of animals will be more compared to other clones. The least herbivore pressure is on Clone C and this shows there is no herbivore abundance and this region must be present in high altitudes , so that many herbivore are unable to reach the clone. This clone may also be less fit and may be because of that herbivores must have ignored them. Herebivore pressure increases in teh following order. Clone C
