On the June2015 worksheet, in cell I7, sum the values in E7:E24 if the purchase in column C is groceries; in cell I8, average the values in E7:E24 if the purchase in column C is groceries; in cell I9, calculate the number of times groceries were purchased during the month.

Please advise how you got this and where you went to. I.e. Insert Function V look up, etc.

Explanation / Answer

Don't have the worksheet with me , but you may try the following formulae:

=sum(EX:EY)

If purchase in some column is GROCERIES, average the value of EX:EY = IF(E1= "GROCERIES", SUM(EX:EY),0)

To get a count of GROCERIES use COUNTA function. It counts no of "noblank" rows.
