Question

There is a collection of squares and circles of varying sizes. There is at least on square and at least one circle, and every square and every circle is painted exactly one colour from the list: blue, green, yellow. The smallest circle is yellow, and the largest square is green. Which of the following are guaranteed to be true? For all circles C there is a circle D such that D is yellow and D is not larger than C. For all circles C, either a green square fits inside C. or there is no square that fits inside C. For some circle X. all blue circles arc larger than X. Every shape X is either blue, or a circle. or a non-blue square. Given any circle C. there is a square D that is a different colour. There are two circles that are painted different colours.

Explanation / Answer

Answer Is B

a) Lets say D is smaller circle, then D is not larger than C.But what if D is not smaller circle then D can be larger than C

b)Given largest square is green,

Q :either a green square fits inside a circle C or there is no square that fits

Now lets take the square to be largest then this can be fit inside circle C if the square is smaller than circle or if square is bigger than C then it dont fit. Both this statement is true

c)can't say, some blue circles can be smaller

d)can't say about every shape as there can be many possibilities

e)wrong

f)wrong
