Question

i have no idea how to solve any type of quads. with either complex numbers, sq. roots, or factoring. the only thing i get is solving quadratics graphically. could yall please send me some notes or something, im not sure how this works

heres a couple of problems: g(x) = x^2 + 6x

                                          25x^=0

                                         -3x^ + 6 = -1

                                         8x^2 -200 = 0

h(X) = -3x^2 +4x -4            im not asking you to do them all i just need help bad

Explanation / Answer

Basically when solving these problems, try to isolate x by manipulating the equation. Try to put x by itself through simplification. Then, find when the equation equals 0. When you are using your calculator, you are basically finding these zeros.

g(x) = x^2 + 6x. For this one we can take take out a z from like terms to create x^2 + 6x = (x +6)x. Therefore, we know there must be an answer at x = -6 and 0, because at those x values (x +6)x is zero.

25x^=0. Im guessing this is 25x^2=0? Either way, the only way we get this equation to equal zero is when x = 0. Or, if you want to see the work, we can simplify by dividing by 25 and taking the square root, resulting in x =0.

h(X) = -3x^2 +4x -4. HERE IS A PROBLEM WHERE U NEED TO USE QUADRATIC FORMULA.
(-b ± (b^2 - 4ac))/2a. The form is ax^2 +bx +c. so for your equation a = -2, b = 4, and c = -4. Just plug in these values to your equation and you find the answer.
