Question
How would I represent this as a linear function:The problem is: Ifthe johnson family is planning a weeklong vacation in Californiaand needs to rent a car. The y-axis is the total rental cost, andthe x-axis the total miles driven in a week. The total miles drivenis 800. The four options is option 1 $329 per week, option 2 is$219 per week plus 12 cents per mile ($315 per week), option 3 is$50 per day ($350 per week), and option 4 as $40 per day, plus 3cents per mile ($304 per week). How would I write this as afunction in order for me to graph it? Thanks for the helpExplanation / Answer
1) this will be a horizontal line at 329 f(x)=329 2) this will be a line that connects (0,219) with (800,315) f(x)=219+.12x 3) this will be a horizontal line at 350 because it isindependent of the mileage f(x)=350 4) this will be similar to 2) it will connect (0,280) with(800,304) f(x)=280+.03x
the only variable in the graphs is the mileage because that iswhat is on the x-axis.
