Question
In a local election, a group hired a public relations firm to promote its candidate in three ways: telephone calls, house calls, and letters. the cost per contacts given in Matrix M, and the number of contacts of each type made in two adjacent cities is given in matrix N. Find the total amount spent in City A and B. M=$1.35 telephone call $3.00 House call $1.40 Letter City A N= Telephone Call = $800 house Call = $600 Letter = $6,000 City B N= Telephone Call = $2,400 House Call = $600 Letter = $10,000Explanation / Answer
I think you made a mistake in writing matrix N. The $ sign should not be there as it is number of contacts. Total spent in City A is 1.35*800+3*600+1.4*6000 = 1080 + 1800 + 8400 = $11280 Total spent in City B is 1.35*2400+3*600+1.4*10000=3240 + 1800 + 14000 = $19040
