In 1896 about 67% of adults approved of labor Use the one-proportion z-test to perform the appropriate hypothesis test, after checking the conditions for the procedure What are the hypotheses for the one-proportion z-tes? o that the percentage of adults who approve of labor unions has decreased since 1936 Type integers or decimals.) SEX Sareen S 3 remaining 8 6Explanation / Answer
H0: P = 0.67
H1: P < 0.67
The test statistic Z = (p - P)/sqrt(P * (1 - P)/n)
= (0.64 - 0.67)/sqrt(0.67 * (1 - 0.67)/1062)
= -2.079
At 5% significance level the critical value is z0.025 = -1.96
As the test statistic value is less than the critical value (-2.079 < -1.96), so the null hypothesis is rejected.
So at 5% significance level there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the percentage of adults who approve of labor unions has decreased since 1936.
