solving for n

taking n as gcf on left side

n( 3-w ) = w

isolate n

divide both sides by ( 3 - w )

n = w / ( 3-w)

2) x + m = nq + rq

taking q as gcf on right side

x + m = q( n+r)

isolate q

divide both sides by ( n+r)

( x+ m ) / ( n + r ) = q

q = ( x+ m ) / ( n + r )
