Question
This questions is refering to the fundamental therom of calculus.
A faucet is turned on at 9:00am and water starts to flow into a tank at the rate of r(t)=10*sqrt(t), where t is time in hours after 9:00am and the rate r(t) is in cubic feet per hour.
How much water, in cubic feet, flows into the tank from 10:00am-1:00pm?
I integrated and got my new equation to be (20t^(3/2))/3. I double checked this and this is correct. After I had this, I plugged in 3 for the time frame between 10am to 1pm and ended up getting a final answer of 20 sqrt(3) and I was incorrect. Do i need to integrate once more or do I have the wrong time for my equation?
