To what extent the cause of drug sub culture relates to crime behaviour based on the following : 1) Substance abuse causes criminality.
2) Criminal behaviour results in people using drugs.
3)The relationship between drugs and crime is spurious with other factors causing both drug and crime behaviour.
4) Drug use and crime are mutually reinforcing.
The drug uses commit crime as a result oftheir drug cunsumption.
Several steps for the successful treatment of using drugs :
1) behavioral counseling.
2)detovification .The process by which the body rids itself of a drug.
3)Medication.
4)Evaluation and treatment for co-occuring mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
5)Long term follow up to prevent relapse.
Cocaine is linked to violent crimes,especially robbery.Cocaine users especially crak cocaine users ,resort to robery to obtain money in order to support their drug habit.Crack cocaine is also linked to prostitution.Prostitution often use cocaine ans sell it to other clients.Selling these drugs will make the prostitutes to earn more money .Habitation ofthese cocaines makes the prostitutes to sell sex more tolerable.A number of street criminals use alcohol and a variety ofdrugs .But in some or rare cases only it is impossible to link criminality with any particular drug.When criminals initiate drug use,it tends to extend their criminal careers or it results them to commit most serious crimes.Crack cocaine is more lethal than powder cocaine.And those convicted selling crack must receive harsher prison sentences than those convicted of selling other drugs.
