Residential garbage as water pollutant.
In urban communities house hold waste is a major pollution in waters.This is due to the negligence of human activities and more specifically globelization and this leads to adverse consequences for humans it self .
Residential waste contains organic and inorganic waste . Organic waste generated from vegetables ,fruits leaves paper etc are decomposed by bacteria while inorganic waste like plastic ,wood ,rubber ,leather etc cannot be broken by bacteria and hence they get settled in water bodies.
The waste settlement lead to the oxygen deprivation in water bodies .
Detergents released into the water bodies cannot be broken easily by bacteria so they pose threat to aquatic organisms.
The presence of detergents promotes the growth of bacteria and water plants which results to the reduced BOD in water bodies.Sunlight cannot be entered properly into the water bodies and hence disturb the food pyramid.
Decomposition of water plants cause silting.
Waste management should be handled properly.inorganic waste shpuld be collected seperately and sent to recyclable units.They should be strictly avoided to dump into water bodies.
