Question
What defines primates as a taxonomic order is a list of physical features that are the result of a recent common ancestry For this discussion board I would like you to share your favorite primate adaptation with the rest of the class. Tell us why you think that adaptation is great and briefly tell us how primate life would be different without that trait. Also, your chosen features does not have to be at at the level of taxonomic order. For example, you can talk about hominoidea which are at the superfamily level and discuss the absence of a tail. In addition, feel free to share your thoughts in an open ended but informed way! For your contribution you will receive participation points.Explanation / Answer
Cognition is one distinguished characteristic that primate possess. its their ability to display a level of intelligence which is used in their survival. A hightened cognition lets them strategize for hunting and aquiring food, cooperation, develop a society, to be influenced or to influence, a state of conscious, use of language for communication etc.
This is a geat adaptation as this makes them smarter than non-primate animals. Its because of this trait they have been marked as evolutionary advance beings and closer to humans, the most advanced species there is. Without this adaptation, they wont be social and sophisticated beings.
