In pond B most of the frogs are large and lack spots but afew are small without spots and a few are large with spots. Whichof the following is the most likely cause of the genetic diversityseen in pond B? A. The small frogs and spotted frogs in pond B aremutations. B. Pond A frogs resulted from individuals migrating from pondB. C. The small frogs and spotted frogs in pond B probably arethe result of some frogs migrating from pond A to pond B. D. Meiosis generated more genetic diversity in pond B than inpond A. I believe that the answer is C and my second choice is A. Ijust need clarification. I think the answer is A. The reasons are: 1.In pond A all the frogs are small and spotted. In pond Bthere are different varieties of frogs. The idea that the frogs in pond A migrated to pond B isabsurd. This is because there is a 5km gap between the ponds.Thereare no other ponds nearby. So these frogs will not leave their home-pond A for another one 5km away. This is because frogs mainly livein water and unless there is water nearby, they will not leave theirhome. It is almost like suicide. 2.So the most likely reason is A. This is because if there are no migrations they must bemutations. If you take the migration question ,you can account for thesmall spotted frogs. But how will you account for the large spottedfrogs?where did they come from? They are not in pond A. So you see the only answer is A. Hope this helps.Related Questions
