Ethics Issue 1 Page 81 The "Code of Ethical Business and Professional Behavior" for the Cleveland Clinic Health System states under the heading "Conflicts of Interest" that "No employee or member of administration or professional staff shall accept gifts, favors, entertainment, or other items of value that might compromise their independent decision making abilities". Assume you are an audiologist working under the above ethical guidelines. If no state law prohibits the practice, could you agree to accept commissions for recommending a certain brand of hearing aid to patients, if the hearing aid is appropriate to their needs? Explanation / Answer

As I am confined the above ethical policies I am will be very loyal to it.

If I find some company which has great reviews on audio equipment, I will not accept any commission from the company, I will ask the company people to provide it for less cost to the patients and I will advise the same.
