when u = 50 cm ( from fig)
m= 0.5
so V = -0.5 u
so that f = -uv/u+v = 0.5*u^2/(1-0.5)u
f = -u
now
1/v = -1/u -1/u = -2/u
v = u/2
so magnificatiom m = u/2/u = 0.5
