Strep test is used to test throat culture and is used to detect the presence of bacteria like streptococcus bacteria. The specific type of bacteria is present in the throat. Sample swab is kept on a culture plate. The pathogenic bacteria is grown on the culture plates and chemical test is performed. If the bacteria is not grown in the culture, then the bacteria is not in throat culture and if it grown, then the bacteria is present in the sample.
