Question
You are standing to the South of a turning ferris wheel which is being put through some safety tests; the axle of the turning wheel is oriented horizontally in the North-South direction. The wheel turns at a constant rate and makes one revolution every 20 seconds; from your point of view, the ferris wheel is turning counterclockwise (CCW). You are tracking a painted emblem on the rim of the wheel, and when you first start your stopwatch (at time zero) the emblem is at the highest point in its path. The radius of the wheel is 3.7 meters.

Explanation / Answer
a) v = rw = r*2*pi*f = 3.7*2*3.14*(1/20) = 1.1618 m/s in direction west
b) change in velocity = 2v = 2.3236 m/s
c) avg accc = change in v/time = 2.3236/10 = 0.23236 m/s^2
