He keeps rubbing his eyes as though it itches the next morning, she notices that both eyes are red, swollen. And watering. Being concerned, she takes him to the pediatrician in the morning and is told that he has " conjunctivitis." She is told that the infection should go away by itself.

A. What part of the eye is involved?

B. What type of conjunctivitis do you think this child has ( bacterial,viral or allergic)?

C. Why didn't the pediatrician order an antimicrobial drug?

A.: a transparent membrane that lines the inside of the eyelids and the whites of the eyes. Blood vessels become more visible when they are inflamed, giving the eye the characteristics pinknes or the redness of the condition.

B. An allergen : Allergic reactions are rare in the babies under 1 year, but if the baby's seem itchy and swollen as well as watery as shown in this question so the baby may be having an allergic reaction to an irritant such as dust, pollen or smoke.

C. Because it is through normal mode , not through virus, bacterial, the doctor give eyedrops to the baby for the cure.

D. No condition is not contagious , it is through allergen so measures must be taken , keep the baby away from dirt, smoke and pollen.
