Question
The half-life of a radioactive nucleus is 6hrs.
(a) PLOT the # of NUCLEI remiaing on the graph below as a function of time, assuming there were 1,000,000 nuclei at t=0
(b) Indicate the half-life t1/2 on the graph with an arrow and label.
(c) How many nuclei remain after one day?

PLEASE show the equations used and how they are used to achieve the answers so i can understand this. THANK YOU!!!
Explanation / Answer
This is very simple .. The meaning of half life is the time taken for the number of nuclei to decay into half of the original value.
This is valid for any interval .. So when x = 6 , y = 500000 ; x = 12 , y = 250000
x= 18 y = 125000 x = 24 y= 62500
Plot the graph using these values... It will be a continuosly decreasiong graph with number of nuclei tending to 0 as x approaches infinity.
