the nuclear bomb on hiroshima was based on nuclear fission.It was the first atomic bomb to be used in warfare. The Hiroshima bombing was the second artificial nuclear explosion in history, after the Trinity test, and the first uranium-based detonation. It exploded with an energy of approximately 15 kilotons of TNT (63 TJ).

the nuclear bomb on nagasaki was a fission reaction. a plutonium implosion-type bomb(Fat Man) on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, with a blast yield of 21 kilotons.

the full scale test of hydrogen bomb in 1952 was a nuclear fusion reaction.The MIKE shot, was the first successful full-scale test hydrogen bomb, on Oct. 31, 1952. When detonated it yielded 10.4 megatons.
