A unform plank of length 2.00 m and mass 32.5 kg is supported by three ropes as Indicated by the blue vectors in the figure below.Find the tension in each rope when a 205 N person is d- 0.550 m from the left end Your retponse is within 10% c the correct value. This may be due to roundon error, or you could he e amidske n your aksition Cary or al interned tenues to a, tat tordre one he mre ple orde error N Your response is within 10% o the o red value. Explanation / Answer

Start by summing torque at the right end of the plank

(T2*2) - 705*(2-0.55) - (32.5*9.8*1) = 0

Solve for T2

T2 = 670.375 N

Now sum torques at the left end

(T3*2*sin(40)) – (705*0.55) – (32.5*9.8*1)=0

solve for T3

T3 = 549.36N

Now sum forces in the horizontal

T3*cos(40) - T1=0

solve for T1

T1 = 420.84 N

EDIT:

I have taken T3 at the right end and T1 at the left end. Its not so distinct in the image. If its the other way round, just reverse T1 and T3.
