Question

1.A plane flying at 12km above sea level at a constant speed of 850km/h

2.It drops a rocket, the rocket falls for an amount of time then its engine kicks in, this combined with gravity gives it a constant accelaration of 3g 30 degrees above horizontal.

3. For saftey reason it has to be at least 1km in front of the plane when it climbs through it's altitude,

Q. What is the minimum time it must fall for before its engine starts?

(g=9.8 at all altitudes and ignore air resistance)

Ive had a go but have no idea of how to factor in multiple accelarations at different times
