1. The net speed of passenger = ( 4+ 1.8) km/hr = 5.8 km/hr

That implies, (5.8x1000)/3600 = 1.61 m/ sec

Time taken to cover 75 m = 75/1.61 = 46.58 seconds

2. If he chooses to walk besides the sidewalk then

(4 x1000)/3600 = 1.11 m / sec

Time taken by him = 75/ 1.11= 67.56 seconds

The amount of time that passenger saved = 67.56 - 46.58 = 20.98 seconds

3. He walks for 46.58 seconds at speed 1.11 m/ sec

46.58 x 1.11 = 51.70 m
