Question
3) Describe how, if at all, the coefficient of friction you determined depends on the area of the sled in contact with the board (ie, lying flat vs. on its side). Does greatly increase when the area is decreased? Greatly decrease? Slightly increase? Slightly decrease? Stay about the same? 4) How would the previous question be answered theoretically (i.e, based on the relevant equations), rather than experimentally? What are some reasons why these experimental and t other? That is, what are some possible sources of error in the experiment? heoretical results for might differ from each 5)Explanation / Answer
The coefficient of friction depend only on.the material of the contacting surface. If the material remain same then you will not observe any chance in the coefficient of friction.
B.Now if you take different material then you will see change in it. However it may also vary because of the weight difference..
3. Another factor which may cause error is the height of the surface, theoretically height should be zero but practically the object also have some height.
