Question

How do I correctly measure the voltage accross a capictor and check its phase shift.  I did a homework problem and now I need to check it it Multisim and I don't know how to do that.  The answer correct answer for the volatage accross the capacitor is 43.86cos(100t - 61.77degrees) but how do I check that in Multisim.  I have a picture of what I have been doing but I need some guidance.

Explanation / Answer

To get the magnitude count the number of divisions peak to peak in the graph multiplied by voltage per division.

To get the phase, connect voltage across capacitor to channel a and voltage across capacitor to channel b, trigger it to obtain lissajous pattern for the phase difference which is ultimately your phase angle since the source is assumed to be having phase zero.
