The mass of block 2is 10.9kg, and the coefficient ofkinetic friction between block 2 and the i die so 200 The angle of the incline is 27.5. If block 2 is moving up the incline at constant speed, what is the mass of block1 Number kg Friction HintExplanation / Answer
Given,
m1 = ? ; m2 = 10.9 kg ; uk = 0.2 ; theta = 27.5 deg ;
Since the system is moving with constant speed this means that the acceleration of the system is zero.
for block 2 we can write:
T = m2g (sin(theta) + uk cos(theta))
T = 10.9 x 9.8 (sin27.5 + 0.2 x cos27.5)
T = 68.27 N
we can write for m1,
T - m1g = 0
m1g = T => m1 = T/g = 68.7/9.8 = 6.97 kg
Hence, m1 = 6.97 kg
