Section: HWK: Grade: Deliverables Format Presentation Grading: HOMEWORK#8 WORKING DRAWINGS Learning Outcomes: [11, [3] I. For the assembly Vise Work Stop shown below, answer the following questions: 1. What type of an assmb dawing is shawn? 2. Explain the information listed in the BOM List for part Base. 3. Explain the symbols and the numbers attached to the middle hole of part Top. 4. Determine the scale and the size of the sheet that could be used for detail drawing of part Top. ing for part Top on a II. Using instruments, create a di III. Determine drawing ine finished surfaces, and mark them by using surface finishing symbols on the Due at the beginning of Lecture#17Explanation / Answer
I.1. The type of assembly drawing that is shown in the figure is called as 'exploded assembly view'. Each part of the assembly is exploded one over the other according to the way it has to be assembled. This is called as exploded view.
2. Information about part Base:
The basic information about each and every part can be read from the Bill of Material table [BOM].
For part Base,
Item no is 4. The part can be identified with this number. In the exploded view, the number 4 is shown within a circle. This is called as balloning. The particular item number will be given as balloning in the assembly view. It is used to identify where and how the part is assembled.
Quantify -1. This information tells abour how many nos the part has to be made. For base it is only one no.
Name: This is nothing but the name of the part i.e is base.
Description: This tells about the material and other specifications. Here the material is black oxide steel that is used for part base.
3. The symbol used to define the middle hole is diameter and the depth symbol. The middle hole is like a step hole which has a dia of 0.46'' in the top portion and 0.58'' with a depth of 0.73''.
4. The scale that can be used for the part top is 1:1 scale. It is enough to use 1:1 scale because all the dimensions are in inches and we can easily draw a clear figure of the part including all the dimension in 1:1 scale. The size of the sheet used can be A4 sheet. The dimension of A4 sheet is 297x210mm. So this sheet can be enough to draw the design.
