Question

A) What is the speed (in meters/second) at which Pluto goes aroundthe Sun? B) How does Pluto's centripetal acceleration in orbit aboutthe Sun compare to the acceleration of objects near the surface ofthe Earth? C) What is the magnitude of the force that the Sun'sgravity exerts on Pluto to keep it in orbit? D) According to Newton's third law, all forces occur in pairs. What is the reaction force to the Sun's gravity on Pluto? Explain.
Here is what I got so far
A) ORBITAL RADIUS OF PLUTO: 5.91 X 10^12 m PERIOD: 7.84X10^9 sec acceleration=v^2/r T=2*pi*r/v solving for v=2(pi*r)/T so... v=(2pi*5.91X10^12m)/(7.84X10^9sec) v=4736.432 m/s
B) acceleration= (4736.432^2m/s)/(5.91X10^12m) pluto's acceleration about the sun=8.014X10^-10 ??????????????????
IS THIS RIGHT SO FAR? IF SO, DO I JUST COMPARE THIS TO AN OBJECTS ACCELERATIONAROUND THE EARTH WITH IS -9.8m/s?
I don't know how to find C or D
Can anyone help? B) How does Pluto's centripetal acceleration in orbit aboutthe Sun compare to the acceleration of objects near the surface ofthe Earth? Explanation / Answer

Given : Mas of the sun ( MS ) = 2 * 1030kg Mass of the Pluto ( m ) = 1.3 * 1022kg Universal gravitational constant ( G ) = 6.67 *10-11 N.m2 /kg2      Mean distance from sun to pluto ( R )= 5900 * 106 km    C )          The forcethat the Sun's gravity exerts on Pluto             F = G Ms m / R2              = (6.67 * 10-11 N.m2 /kg2)(2 * 1030 kg) (1.3 * 1022 kg) / (5900 *106 km)              = ---------- N     D )         From Newton's thirdlaw     For every action there is equal andopposite reaction. An electromagnetic force is being exerted onthe Pluto by the Sun. At the same time plto also exerts thegravitational force. Here Newton's third law applies. I hope it helps you
