Question
please help. I'm not sure I understand what is being asked. Iplotted this and have a linearly decreasing graph.I know KE=hv-Wo but how do I find h?Someone pls explain just what is being asked here? or give me ahead start on this? thanks!!
An experiment was performed by exposing a metal surface to tunablelaser light, and measuring the kinetic energy of any ejectedphotoelectrons. The table below displays experimental data of themeasured kinetic energy for several different applied wavelengths.Plot this data appropriately using Excel, and use this plot toobtain Planck’s constant h (report with units of J·s)and the work function of the metal (with units of eV). What is thesignificance of the data points between 600 nm and 750 nm?

0 plot the graph and the graph obtained by you is correct it linearlydecreasing graph. it will reach 0 K.E at 600nm zero K.E corresponds to work function using the equation KE=hv-Woandsubstituting the values of = 600 nm K.E=0 we can findout work function to obtain Planck’s constant h (report with units ofJ·s) slope of the graph will give us plancks constant. so findout the slope of the graph. What is the significance of the data points between 600 nm and750 nm?
600nm is the threshold wavelength which can just initiate photoelectric effect ie ejecting electrons with zero K.E after that wave length increases to 750 frequency decreasesand photo electric effect cannot be observed.
