BHOPAL,INDIA IN 1984

Bhopal Tragedy happened due to gas leaked from Union Carbide Company. The incident happened in Bhopal on December 2nd and 3rd.This incident took place from plant no. C. This happened due to poor maintenance of that company. But the company was not taken this responsibility. Madhya Pradesh Government declared that total 2,259 people died immediately. But as per officials total 3,787 people died. As per official records Methyl isocyanate was used for cooling of that plant. But the pressure of that thank was increased adversely and due to that reason accident happened. The tank released tonnes of poisonous gas and approximately 5 lakh people were exposed to leakage of methyl isocyanate gas. But company committed to help victims. But the chemical abandoned at this plant polluted the ground water. UCC's laboratory test conducted in 1989 of soil and water samples and as per result they told it was very much toxic to fish. In 1991 municipal authority told that 100 were affected. Methyl isocyanate is a gas which creates coughing, itching in eyes, skin and breathing problem also. The gas caused haemorrhage, pneumonia and death. But actually when the incident was happened no alarm was raised by factory manager.
