1a) There is only one way to get 12 and it is possible if and only we get 6 on both the die
Total Number of Possibilities when two die are rolled = 6 * 6 = 36
P( Getting sum of the numbers on the die as 12 ) = 1/36 = 0.02778 approx < 0.05
Hence , the event is significant
1b) Number of buses arriving late = 20
P(arriving late) = 20/500 = 0.04 < 0.05
Hence , the event is significant
