e. Is the plot in region 3 very flat because the capacitor is “full” and cannot hold any more charge, OR is it because something outside the capacitor is forcing the voltage to increase to this value and then stop.

Explanation / Answer

a)The initial voltage across the capacitor is 2V. If C is the capacitance of the capacitor, then the inital charge=C*2.

b)The increase in voltage shows the charging process.

c)The steepness of the curve is determined by value of resistance. Lower the resistance, higher the steepness.
