To effectively respond to an RFP without giving awy free consulting, I would limit my responses to specifically what a complete response to the RFP would entail. Thus, while the overview of the Technology of the solution would be provided, the intricacies of the methodology, scheduling of the resources or components of the different modules would be intentionally kept out of the response. There would also be a clear validation clause around the depth and degree of understanding of the RFP floated and the assumptions made in the current response. Any differences can be resolved either immediately, or after the contract is awarded, depending on the preferences of the organization floating the RFP.
Any question that tries to dig too deep either into the methodology or into the technology we intend to use would rauise an alarm and I would hesitate to answer it to any degree greater than that necessary to award a contract. In particular, I would be extremely sensitive towards safeguarding our Intellectual Property and Information Assets.
