Question
The pipe in the figure was erased Joe Marketer spilled his coffee on the paper, fortunately engineers can get all this information from the EGL and HGL-no problem. The pipe went from the opening at the bottom of the tank to just above point B and to point C. The nozzle that causes a jet of water is still shown near point C. a) Which way does water flow? Right to left, left to right, water is not flowing b) What is the water velocity in ft/s at point C, the jet caused by the nozzle c) Which of the two pipe sections has a greater velocity a) one before the pump or b) one after the pumpExplanation / Answer
Sorry, but i cant answer the question eaxctly as neither the pump nor the values ae clearly shown but i can give a suggestion that these could be the most probable answer
From these figure shown in the question
The water will probably flow from LEFT TO RIGHT
Greater velocity for the pipe would be one that is after the pump
the reason behind these is as the pump works on the principe of electrical energy is converted into kinetic energy so as conversion is done the water comes up with full force to the pipe which is ttched after the pump.
