8. We know refractive index, n = c/v

where c-> velocity of light in vacumm = 3×108 m/sec

and v-> velocity of light in the liquid

Therefore, n = 3×108/1.97×108

   n = 1.52

Again by Snell's law,

n = sin i/sin r

1.52 = sin 58.8 0/sin r ( i =90-31.2= 58.80)

sin r = 0.8553/1.52 = 0.5702

So, r = 34.20     

Option is (c).
