Distance to travel d = 5200m

velocity perpendicular to velocity of the river v = 2.3 m/s

so time taken to cross the river t = d/v = 5200/2.3 = 2260.87 sec = 37.68 min

b)

How far downstream will the river carry her by the time she reaches the other side of the river?

the distance carried by the river, d = velocity of the stream*time = 0.91*2260.87 = 2057.39 m. = 2.06 km.
