Explanation / Answer

Talking of an environmental autoethnography, let me tell you in brief what an Autoethnography is as, “It is basically an approach to research and write, that seeks to describe and analyze (graphy) personal experience (auto) in order to understand cultural experience (ethno)”. Put differently, a writer uses autoethnography to shed light on particular components of her or his culture by describing personal experience(s) of, and in, that culture. In this way, autoethnography combines elements of both autobiography and ethnography.

Now when we are talking about Environmental autoethnography, so that becomes Autoethnography of your relationship with nature. You just have to present a story of your nature experiences at one of your different life stages—it might be from your early childhood, adolescence or from your present-day adulthood.

Now, i think you are struggling around which artifact to include in your environmental autoethnography. Here you have to choose any of the artifact that is going to descibe your relationship with nature. When you think about nature, what all comes in your mind??? i suppose Natural wildness: biodiversity, abundance—related loose parts in a backyard or a rugged mountain ridge.

One such arifact can be a Tree because “Sometimes a tree tells you more than you can read in books” .Now if you can weave your autoethnography around a tree that used to be in your garden and you used to sit beneath it , ate those delicious fruits, then my friend your job is half done.
