Question
A) An object is thrown vertically upward with a speed of 14.66mph. How much time from launch will it take to reach the bottom of a well 5.64 m deep?
B) If vector A has an x-component of 2.89 m and a y-component of 4.08 m, and vector B has an x-component of 3.26 m and a y-component of 3.62 m, then what is the magnitude of the vector Egiven by the vector sum of 3A + 5B?
C) A predatory fish can accelerate from rest to 4.36m/s in 0.16s. What is the acceleration of the fish?
Just need answers to these 3 different questions , wanna compare to mine. Much appreciated!!!
Explanation / Answer
A) initial speed of the object, voy = 14.66 m/hr
= 14.66*1.609 km/hr
= 14.66*1.609*5/18 m/s
= 6.55 m/s
let t is the time taken to reach the bottom of a well 5.64 m deep.
Apply, -h = voy*t - 0.5*g*t^2
-5.64 = 6.55*t - 0.5*9.8*t^2
4.9*t^2 - 6.55*t - 5.64 = 0
on solving the above eauation we get
t = 1.93 s <<<<<<<-----------Answer
B) E = 3*A + 5*B
= 3*(2.89i + 4.08j) + 5*(3.26i + 3.62j)
= 24.97 i + 30.34 j
|E| = sqrt(24.97^2 + 30.34^2)
= 39.3 m <<<<<<<-----------Answer
C) a = (v2-v1)/t
= (4.36 - 0)/0.16
= 27.25 m/s^2 <<<<<<<-----------Answer
